Did you know? The word “buck” as a reference to money dates back to days before paper when Americans traded animal and elk bucks for goods and services.

General Questions

What type of client does Sagemont Investment Group serve?

We typically work with people who are investing for retirement or are already retired and want to supplement their retirement income with investment earnings. Our clients come from all walks of life. Attorneys, doctors, farmers, teachers, government employees, veterans, women and men.

The clients that seem to like us the most are those who appreciate straight forward advice without all the Wall Street slang. Some clients are very wealthy and some are just starting to accumulate retirement nest eggs. They all have unique financial situations and goals.

What can I expect during our first meeting?

You can expect a casual, straight-forward conversation at no cost and no obligation. We like to plan for an hour to get to know one another. No statements or exact information is necessary at this first meeting. Some clients bring all of their financial information and with others we gather it as we work over time to build a plan. We can start with just “off the top of your head” information. Building a solid strategy for you is worth taking our time for.

Our office environment is intentionally very casual. No suits and ties and no industry jargon. We want you to come as you are, and we want you to feel comfortable asking any question.

What is Sagemont Investment Group's approach to retirement income planning and investing?

Our strategy and approach is determined by your goals and financial situation. We use a retirement planning software system called Goal Planning and Monitoring, provided by Raymond James Financial Services, that helps us summarize your current financial situation and identify your future financial goals. We look at all of your retirement income sources, including Social Security, pensions, IRA’s, 401k’s, annuities, Thrift Savings Plans, investment accounts and more. We then talk at length about risks associated with different investments in order to help us identify how you feel about the ups and downs of stock market investing. Once we know this, we can start building an investment strategy that fits you.

Once the strategy is implemented, we will meet with you several times a year to check on our progress and make sure we are meeting your goals. Our meetings can take place in our office, at your home, or over the phone. Occasionally, we will make adjustments to the strategy in order to accommodate ever-changing life situations.

Whatever amount of wealth you have, we manage it as best we can to move towards your goals and make changes as your goals change or your appetite for market risk changes. Through the support of Raymond James Financial Services, we are able to offer a broad platform of investment products and services.
